Yes, Olababy is a real US company founded in 2015. Here is who we are, what our products are made of, and how safety testing works.Six to twelve months: first tastes and first sips
Around six months most babies are ready to start solids, and this is the window where open cup practice usually begins alongside them. Expect mess and slow progress. The point at this stage is practice rather than performance: a soft first spoon, a small open cup, and a plate or bowl that stays where it was put.
Purees or finger food?
Both are normal starts and plenty of families run them together. A long handled parent spoon suits a puree first approach; a training spoon a baby can load and a suction bowl suit a baby led one. The shelf carries both because the pieces overlap more than the two approaches suggest.
How much mess is too much mess?
A baby who is smearing, dropping and mouthing food is a baby who is learning what it is. A deep pocketed bib and a plate that suctions to the tray move most of the mess into places you can wipe. What none of it does is make the meal tidy, and at this stage tidy is not the goal.
