What Olababy makes, and how the pieces fit together

Everything Olababy makes lives here: baby utensils, cups, plates, bowls and bibs, all in food grade silicone that is free of BPA, PVC, lead and phthalates. The line is designed for the messy in between stages: spoons soft enough for gums, cups sized for two small hands, and suction plates that stay put on a highchair tray. Every piece is top rack dishwasher safe, so cleanup stays as simple as dinner should be.

Where should I start if I am buying for a baby just now?

Start from the stage rather than the category. Before solids, the useful pieces are bottle feeding and the small care items. Around six months, which is the common guidance for starting solids, a soft first spoon and a small open cup cover almost everything. After the first birthday the line moves to forks, divided plates and larger cups. Filter by age above and the shelf narrows to that window.

Why is nearly everything silicone rather than plastic?

Silicone is soft against gums and new teeth, it does not shatter when a toddler tests gravity, and it holds up to boiling and the dishwasher without going cloudy or brittle. The grade used here is food grade and free of BPA, PVC, lead and phthalates. The flexibility is functional too: a spoon tip that bends can scoop from an angle a rigid one cannot.
